FEES, PAYMENTS AND SUMS fixed and settled under Section 214 of the Local
Govt. Act 1972
The fees, payments and sums set out below apply where the person to be
interred or in respect of whom the right is granted, has been, or
immediately before their death had been, permanently resident for at least
12 months in the village of Chalfont St Peter, or, in the case of a
still-born child, where the parents (or one of them) had been so resident.
In all other cases, the exclusive right of burial will be trebled and all
other fees, payments and sums will be doubled, except where the exclusive
right of burial in the grave in question was acquired at the resident’s
price.MEMORIALS
In order to place a memorial on the grave, the owner of the grave must
receive permission from the Parish Council and the regulatory dimensions and
prices/costs are as below.
PLOTS FOR CREMATED REMAINS
Flat Stone not exceeding 18" square - £95.
Head Stone not exceeding 18" in height by 18" wide -£95.
Kerbstones or border stones (additional to headstone fee above) enclosing a
space not exceeding 18" by 18" £95.
FULL SIZE PLOTS
Flat Stone not exceeding 2'6" square - £95.
exceeding the dimensions above but not exceeding 6'6" long by 2'6" wide

Head Stone 2'6" high and 2.6" wide -£95.
Kerbstones or border stones (additional to headstone fee above) enclosing a
space, on full size

CHILDREN’S SECTION
Flat Stone not exceeding 24" wide by 48" long - £95.
Head Stone not exceeding 22" high by 24" wide - £95.

The fees indicated for the various heads of this part include the first
inscription. For each additional inscription after the first, the fee for
approval will be £50.
EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS OF BURIAL IN EARTHEN GRAVES
For the exclusive right of burial for 75 years
FULL SIZE PLOTS
(i) in an earthen grave (for a child who did not exceed the age of 12 years
at the date of death - £80.
(ii) in an earthen grave approx. 8' by 4'- £270.
CREMATED REMAINS
For the exclusive right of burial of cremated remains in an earthen grave
approx. 2' by 2' for 75 years - £80.
Grave Digging Fee – Double and Single depth - £300
INTERMENTS
Triple or Double.
Fees for Part l (i), (ii) & (iii) below, do not include the cost of digging
the grave.
1. For the interment of Coffins
(i) of the body of a person whose age at the time of death exceeded 12 years
- £200.
(ii) of the body of a child whose age at the time of death exceeded one
month but did not exceed 12 years - £130.
(iii) of the body of a still-born child, or of a child whose age at the time
of death did not exceed one month - No charge
CREMATED REMAINS BURIAL
2. For the interment of cremated remains in a grave in respect of which an
exclusive right of burial has been granted including digging and refilling
hole - £100.
3. For the interment of cremated remains other than as at 2 above, e.g. when
the urn is placed at the same time as a full size burial of a coffin - £70.
