MINUTES OF THE DULY CONVENED MEETING OF THE PARISH COUNCIL OF CHALFONT ST PETER HELD IN THE CHALFONT ST PETER COUNCIL OFFICES, CHALFONT ST PETER, ON MONDAY 18 DECEMBER AT 8 P.M.

130 PRESENT
Cllr D Palmer (Chairman), Cllr K Adams, Cllr Banham, Cllr Mrs I Darby, Cllr V Gupta, Cllr M Horne, Cllr A Watts, Cllr P Nowell, Cllr Moffat and the Clerk and Assistant.

Cllr Banham arrived at 8.05 pm

131 ACCEPT APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies were received from Cllr Shafe, Cllr B Allen, Cllr R Allen, Cllr Mrs Bacon, Cllr Mrs Smith and Luke Cross from the Bucks Advertiser

132 DECLARATION OF INTERESTS
None were received.

133 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
Minutes of the last meeting held on 27 November, were considered and signed by the Chairman as a true record.

No matter arose.

135 CHAIRMAN'S ANNOUNCEMENTS
Cllr Palmer welcomed Eleanor Wilson, the Clerk’s assistant, to the meeting.

Cllrs Palmer, Nowell and B Allen had attended a workshop on "Getting Closer to Communities". Cllr Palmer provided a summary of the workshop to councillors – Noted.

Cllr Palmer agreed to move the agenda item regarding the ‘Accounts’ to the last item so that the request for donations could be considered.

137 TO COMMENT ON ‘COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REVITALISATION ACTION PLAN’
Cllr Adams had not read this document as he refused to receive such large documents on his computer. He will accept Agendas and Minutes only. The Clerk made a hard copy of this document available to Cllr Adams and it was agreed to defer commenting on this plan to the next Amenities and Planning Committee.

138 TO CONSIDER A DONATION TO CHALFONT ST PETER WINDBAND AND ST PETER’S CHURCH
At the proposition of Cllr Mrs Darby, seconded by Cllr Moffat it was agreed to provide a donation of £60 to Chalfont Wind Band which play at the Maria Taylor Carol Concert and £60 for refreshments provided by St Peter’s Church after the Maria Taylor Carol Concert.

139 TO DECIDE UP ON A COMMEMORATIVE ITEM FOR THE VILLAGE TO BE DONATED BY BUCKINGHAMSHIRE BUILDING SOCIETY TO MARK ITS CENTENARY.
Buckinghamshire Building Society is celebrating its centenary in 2007 and the Manager has asked the Council if it wishes to have a commemorative item for the Village to mark the occasion. Suggestions put forward were Memorial Bin with plaque, a new wooden sign out on main road, a clock in Market Place and wrought Ironwork ‘Cross Keys’ over River Misbourne at the Splash Garden.

140 COUNCILLORS REPORTS
Cllr Moffat reported that seventeen people attended a meeting on 28 November 2006 regarding the regeneration of Mill Meadow. The head teachers of local schools, Cllr Mrs Smith, representatives from the Community Centre, local sports clubs and an officer from CDC, Richard Griffiths, had attended. There were many interested parties who were keen to improve the area. Another meeting has been organised for January, 2007.

Cllr Nowell and Cllr Mrs Darby reported that they had attended meetings of the PCT and Bucks Hospital Trust as well as the League of Friends AGM of the Gerrards Cross and Chalfonts Hospital. The hospital was not under threat of closure at present but a review of community hospitals will be carried out in the future.
