NOTES FROM THE VILLAGE APPRAISAL STEERING GROUP MEETING OF 29TH OCTOBER, 2003

PRESENT
Cllr Mrs Smith (Chairman), Ian Corbett, David Gardner, Graham Faulkner, David Furze, Corine Jefferies, Cllr Horne, Bryan Sheppee, Cllr Watts and Sue Moffat.

APOLOGIES
Apologies were received from Jean Priestley, Rob Loveland and Tony Shinner.

TO APPOINT A TREASURER AND TO OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT FOR THE CSP VILLAGE APPRAISAL GROUP
No one volunteered to be the Treasurer. Sue Moffat to ask Jean Priestley and if not Sue Furze.
A bank account needs to be opened to accept any grants that may be made available.
Two out of three to sign cheques i.e. Chairman, Secretary or Treasurer.

TO INFORM MEMBERS OF THE APPLICATION TO THE REVITALISATION FUND
Bryan Sheppee co-ordinated the application with David Gardner, Andy Watts and Sue Moffat in order to meet the dead line with CDC. In order to apply for this grant the application had to be via the Development Group as there was an amount of revitalisation funding available at CDC.

MARKET TOWN INITIATIVE
Bryan’s bid to the CDC revitalisation funding will be to support all current appraisal work (for newsletter, etc.) David Furze & David Gardner to see if this will be sufficient for Market Town Health Initiative. David Gardner to see if CSP can still apply for parish plan funding from Countryside Agency.

REPORTS FROM ACTION GROUPS
YOUTH
Short term action -
1) Village Youth shelter with possible funding from CDC and Action Group investigating the best location for it.
2) Undertaking an audit of assets for youth in the village.
3)Co-ordinating internal (e.g. youth clubs) and external communications (e.g. youth council/Leisure Groups).
Medium Term action -
1)Investigating the use of Tithe Barn Youth Centre. At present it is only open 2 days a week and there are staffing problems.
2) Monitoring of youth shelter.
3) newsletter of youth activity.
Long term action -
To improve the facilities and activities that are available in the village e.g. Would be nice to improve the facilities at Mill Meadow. To do this might be advisable to ask the community Association to join the Group.
Next meeting is to be held at 3.30p.m. on 11th November at Tithe Barn.

DISABILITY
Graham Faulkner has had discussions with David Furze and seeking to help vulnerable and disabled groups in the Village. Aiming to contact local groups and disability Focus Group for the first meeting on 26th November at the NSE to produce an action plan.
Bryan Sheppee pointed out that there has been problems with access in to shops in the village and the Chamber of Commerce do advise new shop owners about access for the disabled.
Linda to send Graham details about the Disabled AGM.

BUSINESS AND EMPLOYMENT
There has been problems contacting members of the Group but hope to have the first meeting in a few weeks time.

TRANSPORT
Sue pointed out that the local Transport co-ordinator will hopefully be attending a pre-council meeting in January and the Action Groups would be invited. Ian and Malcolm to collate questions that the groups may wish to ask.
Next meeting of the Transport Group on 3rfd November.

ELDERLY
Residents of Rock House now have their vouchers for Dial-a-Ride.
30mp.h. repeater signs have been requested via the Chiltern Local Committee.
OPAG - Older Persons Action Group – for people who are 50+ David Gardner to talk about one for CSP at the next meeting.

TO SUMMARISE ACTIONS TAKEN BY ALL ACTION GROUPS
To take the following action:-
To co-ordinate email addresses and contact numbers of member of each Group to aid communication.
To produce items to be included in the newsletter.
to send reports in advance for the next meeting.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE CDC'S COMMUNITY APPRAISAL FUND
An outline action plan is required from CSP to access £500 from CDC. This will require contributions from each action group for completion by the appraisal group at next meeting.


TO REPORT ON PROGRESS OF NEWSLETTER
The Bucks Advertiser have volunteered its help to produce a newsletter and the local journalist, Moni, has offered to edit the information. The Bucks Advertiser will publish the newsletter in its paper and then print a smaller copy for circulation. David Furze to make inquiries if the newsletter can be distributed with the Churches 'Infusion'. Also the Village guide will be produced soon so one edition of the newsletter may be distributed at the same time.
