Supporting schools in emerging nations
We are seeking volunteers
Are you able to spare a little time to support a local charity?
School-Aid is charity based at Hammer & Harp Farm, Wapseys Lane, Hedgerley, Bucks. SL2 3XJ. We started life in a double garage and have grown to occupy our current premises.
Our aim is to collect new and used school equipment to send to needy children in developing countries. So far, shipments have been sent to South Africa, Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe. We are currently striving to support more schools and children in other developing countries.
School-Aid is very much reliant on the support of the community to continue its work and you can help in a number of ways.
- We need volunteers to help us pack the equipment into boxes. If you can spare any time at all, we would be very grateful for your help.
- (School Aid volunteers range from school children to the retired! So you are never to young or old to be part of the team!)
- We also need boxes to pack the equipment into. We have found through experience that wine boxes (suitable for 6 bottles) or A4 paper boxes are the best size, as they are small enough to be carried by one person.
- Finally, if you wish to make a donation of money, books, sports equipment or toys to the charity, we will be delighted to hear from you.
Please see our website www.school-aid.org for further details of the charity or contact us on 0870 0056 999 or at office@school-aid.org if you can help in any way.
Being involved in school-aid is immense fun, with a great spirit of camaraderie amongst helpers. We do hope to see you soon.
